About Face Lifts

What is a face lift?

A Face Lift is also known as a rhytidectomy.

The surgery will tighten and improve the contours of the face and neck to reduce the signs of aging.

Face Lifts are often combined with other procedures including eyelid surgery, brow lifts, skin peels, or laser skin resurfacing to treat areas of sun damage and fine lines that are not removed by the Face Lift procedure.

Am I a candidate for a face lift?

Good candidates for a Face Lift:

Have deep lines from the nose to the mouth or below the lower eyelids
Have fat that is displaced around the face
Have loose skin and extra fat under the chin and jaw
Do not smoke

Dr. Henderson will examine you and help determine which procedure is most suitable for you then provide you expert treatment and care during the process.

What are some limitations of a face lift?

A Face Lift will not stop the aging process. Most results last between 5-10 years.

A Face Lift does not address wrinkles of the forehead or around the mouth.

A Face Lift does not lift drooping eyebrows or change the upper or lower eyelids.

Dr. Raven Henderson will examine you and recommend the procedures that will help you achieve your desired look.

What are the anesthesia options?

Face Lift surgery may be performed with general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation.
