About Nose Surgery

What is nose surgery?

Nose Surgery is also known as a rhinoplasty.

The surgery will repair or reshape the nose and improve its appearance and/or function.

Nose surgery is often combined with other procedures including septoplasties that open up the nasal passage.

Nose Surgery will:
Correct a nasal hump
Straighten a crooked nose
Increase or decrease the size of the nose
Decrease the size of large openings of the nose
Change the look of the tip of the nose
Correct birth defects or repair damage from injuries

Am I a candidate for nose surgery?

Good candidates for Nose Surgery:
Are self conscious about the appearance of the nose
Have nose deformities from trauma or genetics
Have completed facial growth (around ages 16-17)
Do not smoke

Dr. Henderson will examine you and help determine which procedure will acheive your desired look then provide you expert treatment and care during the process.

What are some limitations of nose surgery?

Dr. Henderson can only work with the existing structure of your bones and cartilage, limiting how far your nose can be altered.

The final results of nose surgery may take up to one year to become apparent, at which time the need for further surgery can be assessed.

What are the anesthesia options?

Most Nose Surgery is performed under general anesthesia.
