About Body Lifts

What are body lifts?

There are two main types of body lifts: upper body lifts and lower body lifts.

An upper body lift will remove excess skin and fat from your upper back that extends to the side of your chest. It is often performed with breast surgery.

A lower body lift will remove excess skin and fat from your lower abdomen, hips, upper outer thighs and upper buttocks.

Am I a good candidate for a body lift?

Good candidates for a body lift include those with excess skin after significant weight loss, childbirth, or ageing.

Dr. Henderson will examine you and help determine which procedure is most suitable for you. She will then provide you expert treatment and care during the process.

Care after a body lift

General anesthesia is required for the body lift procedure.

Dr. Raven Henderson performs most body lift surgeries on an outpatient basis or with a short hospital stay.

There will be dressings and binders. Drains are placed for a few days. The stitches are absorbable. You can remove the dressings and take a shower on the 5th day after surgery.
